It gives me a great sense of joy and privilege to communicate with the members of the faculty and students of the Bethesda College of Technology & Sciences. Since its establishment in 1976, the Institute has strived to offer the highest quality of education to equip the future technocrats. Challenging young minds to think creatively, explore the extents that technology can be stretched, to meet the changing needs of this ever-evolving world that continues to look at Engineers as solution providers.
Youth, I believe, is a time to channelize your thoughts into territories that have not been trodden upon. Surprising oneself with one's own ideas and making one's dream a reality, is a feat on its own.
At BITS we motivate our students to think out of the box - analyze facts, consider a hypothesis and be able to substantiate their point of view through projects, presentations, and seminars. Thus making our students scholars for life. Ever ready to learn, evolve and influence.
Having pioneered significant changes in the Telecom MNCs, I am well aware that great learners eventually turn out to be great leaders. Building leadership qualities among our students has been one of the chief goals of the Institute. Collaborative learning, building team spirit and learning to put forth their ideas articulately will be specially emphasized to meet international standards. Thereby our graduates will be able to confidently offer their knowledge and ability globally.
Another important aspect of 21st Century corporate environment is the management of workforce, in other words Industrial Psychology that was a part of my Management Studies and Doctoral thesis. Even in our tech-savvy world, the element of human touch cannot be ignored. At grass roots, I have successfully spearheaded a multicultural department of over 300 Engineers and Technicians, so I know of its significance, which is definitely a pre-requisite to becoming a successful leader. The ability to inspire and bring about restructuring requires professionals to have skills that convince colleagues to adopt and adapt to modern technological demands. I firmly believe that my experience in this field will help in equipping our scholars with this new discipline.
Finally, I am looking forward to working with our esteemed faculty. Together we will build a college, which is renowned for gifting the nation and to the nations of the world with talented and multifaceted engineers who are not limited to providing solutions, but also invent ways to enhance the quality of life of our fellow beings, and make it go around at the press of button.
